Got out to the Snohomish on Friday after work for my second trip after the pinks in that river this year. Ended up meeting up with fellow members jonb and Djbutler on the river, unplanned, and fished with them for a couple hours. I primarily spent my time twitching one of my hand tied pink and white 1/4oz maribou jigs, but I also threw a pink and silver roostertail for a bit. Twitching maribou jigs is not a technique that I am incredibly familiar with, so tonight was definitely a learning night for me, but it was laced with enough success to give me some ideas to improve on for next time and keep me coming back. I was able to hook into two pinks in a couple hours (landed one), both caught on a slower and more deliberate twitching method. One had actually hit the jig on the initial free fall from casting and I only felt it when I went to make the first twitch. We would see schools come through every half hour or so, and they kept on coming well into the twilight portions of the evening and past sunset.
It was a nice night overall. I'll be back down to continue working on my maribou twitching technique.
Tight lines!
