It was an all-women trip. Cynthia and I joined Bree aboard her sled Snohomish bound. We were supposed to meet at 8 but I was late. I went to get into my vehicle and it wouldn’t start. It was corrosion on the battery cables. I left 30 minutes after I had hoped but then there was I405 traffic which made me 20 minutes later. I got there about 8:20am.
It was overcast with showers but where we were on the river there wasn’t an issue with the wind. I found that on my way home.
We had gone to a few different places without any bites on jigs or Dick Nites. By 10 I am sure we were all wondering if we were going to go home without any fish. There were fish visible at different times but they wouldn’t bite. Bree moved us over by some rocks. Shortly thereafter she had one on and by a little after noon we had our limits.
Bree was showing us…cast like this and when it gets here start reeling and “fish on”. She hooked a fish while showing us how we should do it.
I think the most exciting moment is when Cynthia realized that she had a fish on and it wasn’t the bottom. She had donated a few weights and lures to the bottom. She started jumping up and down and I am very sorry that I didn’t get that part on film. So she was jumping and reeling at the same time. It was awesome.
I tied up some new Wannafish A Lure jigs to try. They looked good but no bites on any jigs. It was Dick Nite Spoons Nickel back Frog pattern in size 1 that was our ticket to success.
It was a great day on the river catching with Bree.
We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.
