This is a combo report for the day targeting two different species.

First I departed to Reiter hatchery and searched around for some steelhead. There was plenty of people there, only a couple caught steelhead. I personally have a random inclination for not catching my target fish, but instead dealing with another equally worthy opponent.

This time, Mrs. Chinook decided she had enough of my happily vibrating spinner and took a chomp on it. Never caught a King up here, so that was pretty cool. Pretty good fish, not too colored up for this time of year. Released and let her go on her way.

No steelhead resulted from my efforts with hardware so I drove downriver to pursue my second quarry. The Pinks are in thick, caught 14 in a couple hours on silver and pink kastmaster spoons, lost about as many due to barbless hooks. Released them all and called it a day.

Pretty Good overall, the rain has definitely made a difference.

Nice hatchery king! Too bad they aren't open to keeping. Were your pinks all colored up? I've not seen a fresh one up here on the Sky yet, but might go by the prison hole area to check it out. There are some coho in here now though!

@john maher There are a couple bright fish up on the sky, most are colored up pretty good though. Better numbers of bright ones can be found in the upper SnoHo.

Maybe next time settle for the tail holding shot and not drag it 75 yards down river to have some guy to take a photo of you with it. People remember bad stewardship.

I agree it was not my brightest moment as a sportsman. First and last time I'll do that. To be fair she was kept in the water 100% of the time and was revived before being released.
