A combo of kids and work kept me out of the river the last week, not sure if the fish were even there me and the Rookie headed down to our spot. In about 20 min hooked the craziest little pink hen, she fought hard and jumped out of the water a couple times, on her second jump I twitched my pole and she hopped right on the beach and into the cooler.

The next 2 hours were taxing to say the least. Nothing. No bumps, no bites, no nothing. Then the rookie hooks into a fish about 10' off shore and it was his first coho of the year. Small buck, but a great looking fish. He then grabbed a nice pink hen. I hooked a couple more so the day ended up being pretty good.

The last hen I caught was after I was done reeling in, I had my jig in the water to watch the action and she swam right up and took a bite, love having waders!
