Finally got a chance to take my 12' boat up the Duamish on Saturday. Went once in 2012 and once in 2013, so was excited to give it another shot.. Launched at O'dark-thirty and had to wait a few minutes for the sky to brighten. Got lines in the water at 6:30 . My partner and I went geared for pulling plugs. Started at the Southpark Bridge and trolled up to the Boeing bridges before we started seeing more boats. Saw a couple fish hooked by other boats, but we were getting no love. Apparently herring was the ticket.....something we didn't have. We did have herring scent, so made sure our plugs were coated in it. We continued to watch the herring pullers catch the occasional Coho. We tried a varieity of plugs from Storm, Brads, and Kwickfish without result. My partner did hook a Pink on a pink/purple plug. At 9a we decided to switch tactics and moved upriver to cast jigs. I hooked a pink and lost three jigs to snags in quick succesion. The jigs were not getting it done, so tried floating some roe, but the tide change was uppon us and there was very little current, so the float wasn't moving much. Went back to pulling plugs. Moved down river and found a spot to anchor up and cast Dick Nites. The current was starting to pick up after the tide change, but the Coho bite seemed to have died off as we were not witnessing much activity from the herring guys. After a fruitless hour tossing Dick Nites we packed it in at noon. None of the Coho we saw caught were very big. There were a few boats jigging for Pinks, but didn't see them hook anything while there. A disappointing fishing trip with just two Pinks c&r'd, but learned something new and was fun to get out and off the bank..
