Went back to the spot I discovered yesterday. Started with a pink jig, snagged on the 3rd cast and lost it... Examined the area before re-rigging and discovered that half the logs in the water had shifted in the past 24 hours. Re-rigged and started working the area carefully to find a safe hole. I ended up finding it, but after loosing 2 more jigs!!! Thankfully I made these for around $1 a piece so the lost wasn't to bad, but still frustrating. Played around with the jigs a little more but no luck, switched to a small gold kastmaster and 3rd cast and BAM!! Fish on!!!! After a pretty decent fight I was able to get him close to shore to discover I had snagged it.... I was able to release him with little effort, never left the water. Tried a few other spoons and dicknites but no luck, went back to the pink jig and got several hits and about 5 hookups but couldn't land any of them. Shortly after hooking into my last fish for the day I was able to re-catch all of my jigs that I had lost earlier! They must have gotten loose from the current and I was able to catch the remaining line and pull them in. All in all it was a good trip didn't take home any fish but was able to hook into several, land one, and catch all the gear I lost haha. Next trip to the river I'll try targeting coho, if anyone has any tips I'm all ears!
Thanks!
