Wow, it's 5:30pm and I'm finishing where I started...across from the mouth of the pilchuck. Started here waiting for sunrise throwing vibrax, then jigs. no rollers, no luck. Moved downstream about a mile below the highway 9 bridge. Same, no rollers no luck. Headed up toward craven farm and the pay beach but, as I was an unpaid trespasser (didn't know it was pay because the gate was open!) I scooted out after a kind beach veteran gave me the details. Only rollers I saw all day were up there...but didn't appear to be on fire as far as catching.
So, that brings me to my question(s): does no rollers = no fish with coho? Is the lower sno done or just waiting for a good rain?
I've been fishing one spot for the last 15 years for pinks and silvers and have always done well with pinks but only so-so with silvers. Been an especially tough last month or so though. One silver and no limits on pinks the last 8 or 10 times out (early Sept). I have always had good luck with the humpy spoons you can get for a buck seventy nine at triangle but couldn't catch a cold with them for much of September.
Anyway, I just found this site a month or so ago and really enjoy reading all the posts. Any thoughts or advice welcome. General river locations or type off water would be helpful.
Thanks!
