Finally made the trip to my sisters for some fishing. Almost right away my some pulled a pike out. Later on even the dog wouldn't eat that thing. Short time in and I hooked a small steelhead. Lots of aerial action, was able to land it after a few minutes. My first ever steelhead. Then stupidity hits went to put it on the stringer and couldn't get it untangled with one hand. So I set the fish between some rocks with a larger rock between it and the water. You guessed it. As soon as my hand was off it flopped around and right out of the rocks. Talk about mad. That was on eggs. After a few hours switched to a blue fox and first cast had another on the line for all of about ten seconds. Another aerial show and out comes the hook. Managed to hook several very aggressive little smolt. Carefully returned them to the river. Headed out to lunch and went back down in the evening with no luck. Sunday we headed down stream to the grave creek area. Saw plenty of nice size fish rolling. Switched back n forth with eggs and spinners. Had a few follows. Then with eggs on bobber down. Set and nothing, 3 times in a row. More smolt that were stealing bait. Was really a beautiful place. Hopefully she hasn't sold the house before I can get back down there.
