Headed over to the stretch by the ballfields in Auburn around the lunch hour. Water clarity is starting to look much better, but still running a little high and fast.
I was targeting early chums using chartreuse yarn and corky smeared with some Anise/Krill gel, and was surprised to hook into a jack coho, very bright. I didn't even notice a bite, until I started reeling in at the end of drift and noticed extra weight on the end of the line.
I released that guy so he could venture upstream and make more little 'hos. There were a couple folks spaced out on this stretch, and I didn't see any sign of any chums caught. On my way out, I saw one guy slip what appeared to be a small, and very bright jack into a picnic bag and high tail it to the parking lot. Suspicious... Hope it wasn't the one I released earlier.
Not much activity here today. I wonder if they shot upstream after the rains, or if they're still downstream.
