I won't say where I was but to a few close fisherman, the river is giving up some seriously big chum salmon this season, on average I've been catching 20+ pounders CONSISTENTLY! One after another in the Nooksack. Water is flowing fast and has created some huge holes that they are stacked up in! One yesterday topped 25 pounds and was the best fight I've ever had next to a tuna! All released unharmed... There are plenty of fish with hooks and lures stuck in the tails and backs, sad to see so many snagged fish swimming around! On a side note, I cant help but laugh at some fisherman lately, fortunately I had the pleasure of saving a life when a wader decided to attempt to cross the river where you normally could, only to realize there was now a very large channel in the river that wasn't there before the rains... Where he did loose his gear and pole ( pole was found later and returned ) he's lucky he didn't loose his life... Stay safe guys !

Hard to believe the river is even fish-able. I know after the floods the gravel is like walking on quick sand and all the crossing spots change. BE SUPER CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!
