OMG is all I can say about today. I was fishing on the north fork of the Nooksack just above the route 9 train trestle and bridge. There was soooooooooooo much action today !!! Let me say this again, SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH ACTION TODAY!!!!!!! Started out using dick nite's wee in 50/50 and hooked (2) 10+ plus chum.. 20 minutes later not a single bite on it in the same holes... Started to fish an aero jig in pink/white color under a bobber... less then 10 seconds in the water the bobber went under. Big and fat chum hen over 10lbs, landed and released... Next few casts bobber down each and every time. Ended up with over 30 quality chums still sporting chrome!

Lost the jig and switched to a nightmare jig and bobber down, fish tail slapping the water, jumping clean outta the water at times, landed a clipped hen about 7 or 8 lbs., released but no pic....... 1ST STEELHEAD OF THE SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lost 4 jigs to breaking off on fish ( using 12 lb. line here) but did find two newer beau-mac 3/4 oz. bobbers floating down the river, a brads wiggler that was on a exposed tree root, and a few hooks and sinkers... River levels drop and vavaa voom people's rigs are exposed!

What really made the day..........

After I landed a few of the chums a older guy in a off colored Tahoe or bronco decided to walk down on the other side of the river and start fishing the hole I was working .... He never did catch anything while I was there, so I made sure to throw upriver of him and let my gear float down to his and catch fish on just about every cast in the same hole.... Karma's a B@! I was nice enough to tell him the color of jig and even offered him one as I was leaving for the day, but he was stubborn and kept fishing the same spots with no luck

I need to buy me some waders!!!!

are you fishing the east or west side of the bridges?

If you were driving from deming, there is a small parking area to the left before the bridges, there is a large shallow area to the left that s more or less a giant eddy, I was fishing the eddy closest to the bank and casting at a 25 degree angle towards the other currents coming together, when the tide washed the area it's created a giant 6-10 ft hole at the far end where the fish were stacked up, if you weren't using the aero jig you weren't catching the fish in that hole yesterday!

Dj2loud should be using heavier line or setting his drag correctly or both. Snapping off that many lures should be a clue. I am an avid fisherman and I work for the Department of Ecology and if you are practicing catch and release please take into account that about half of the fish you release will die and the ones with lures and line still hooked in them likely will too. Lets keep this sustainable so there are any fish to catch in the future. Thanks
