Well with some rivers opening its time to set the bass gear aside and wet my river lines.
Fished the Sky A little Friday Afternoon and All Sunday Morning from 5am - 2pm. Fished between the Mann St Bridge and Lewis St Bridge in multiple locations from shore. Not a whole lot of fish. seen some rollers in the morning in a few spots. Saw one guy pull one in from shore and another loose one from a boat near the mouth of the Sultan. Other than that pretty slow as far as I saw & heard. Used Eggs mostly, some spoons, blue foxes, and a few casts with some jigs.
Also went to the Cascade early Saturday morning. Spooked some animal that might have been a bear when i first got there around 330am direstly across the street, maybe 30 feet away. Too foggy to see, it was very large and ran away from me most likely scared of my headlight. Guess i should invest in protection going up there i know there are alot of bears and other wildlife. Every 45 min there would be a jump from a king, saw some coloring on one when I got a good look. I was the only one fishing there from about 4:15am - 7:30am. Seen no fish running up either.
Saw a guy fishing the Sauk and quite a few people fishing the north fork of the Stilly Saturday morning on my way home.
Might try for some sockeye soon on the skagit. I heard from one person it was decently slow when he stopped by there as well.
I was thinking there would be a whole lot more fish since the rivers havent been under pressure for quite some time.
Hope some people had some better luck than I did.
Tight Lines!
