What a poor fishery even for trout and salmon.... been fishing off and on over the past weeks with little to no success...

Water levels are at a historic low, the following closure is in effect as of today

South Fork of the nooksack river from Saxon Road bridge upstream until further notice.....

What folks don't realize is that there are 100 cars a day + with folks tubing down the river from the ACME bridge pee'n and defecating on the shores of the river and leaving their garbage all over the place. Its been documented to WDFW and the state yet they wont do anything besides take a report......

Close this river down to this type of activities........

These activities may be fun for humans but detrimental to habitat and fish populations returning

This sounds like the Pilchuck River or any local river for that fact. Very low flows with tons of people on the river. Every beach you go to has graffiti, human waste and beer cans everywhere. I hate to say this since I have enjoyed floating the river but it seems like they should make it illegal until people start showing some respect for the places they get to enjoy out here in the great NW. I cant walk my dogs anywhere near a river without finding broken beer bottle glass and turds everywhere! Maybe one day the WDFW might crack down harder on this type of behavior... Theyll stake out a kid humpy fishin for hours trying to find a broken reg but not a group of disrespectful riff raff throwing garbage into the river.. crazy.
