I was invited to join Gringo Pescador and Brianna on Gringo's boat to target Duwamish silvers today. Woke up and discovered the river was being netted. Called Mark and we decided to give it a try.
Ah, the joy of fishing a river all to ourselves. No other sport anglers in boats, just us, and 10,000 nets strung back and forth along the shoreline. We gamely trolled down the center of the river, watching an occasional fish jump in the channel, and many a fish being pulled out of nets, just none out of our net.
After an hour and a half of trolling we found our little corner of net-less paradise and each angler selected their poison. Mark twitched, Brianna threw thin blade spoons, and I floated eggs under a bobber. And the winner was - not us. Not a bite, nada. !0:45 and the rain/wind started up, we decided to call it futile. I don't know if nets turn off the bite, but it sure doesn't help it. Yuck.
Anyway, thanks Mark for taking us out, we'll get em when the river is clear of nets!
