Finally the chance to fish in my favorite river system. Like many of you I have grown abit frustrated with needing to travel distances to fish in a river. Anyway, me and my fishing buddy arrived below the 522 bridge at Lord Hill park early Saturday morning before daylight. Having read the other Coho fishing reports we were armed with the what was working on other systems. With the rain the previous evening I was expecting positive results. After a few hours I finally landed a nice bright Coho around 4 lbs. I will say the orange "Blue Fox" with the orange blade not only produced the one salmon but several trout close to 12 inches. The WSDFG regulations were silent on the barbless situation but I went ahead and did the right thing not wanting to get a ticket. The river was in great shape a little below 5 feet on the Goldbar gauge and slightly tinted due to the rain and the incredible number of boats running back and forth past us. Overall, it was a good day just to be back on my local hometown river. Tight Lines. Sky

Don't assume that you always need to pinch your bard. If you want to then go ahead but you are not required to. Only in the sound and columbia and it's tributaries is it a permanent rule. I hear this time after time. Ppl assume that you need to pinch barb just because of anti-snagging rules or they have been mislead by other fisherman who are not up to speed with regulations. Sorry to rant about it but come on guys if you don't see anywhere on the rules books about pinched bards don't dwindle your chances down by pinching your bard, epically with the limited amount of fishing we have going on and don't just go off of what someone else tells. Read the rules thoroughly yourself so you don't have to rely on someone else's misguidance.

Remember each river system may have its own rules and guidelines so don't assume just because you had to punch them in one area that means you have to punch them in every area for salmon.

Thank you riverhunter for the advice. Looking forward to WSDFG providing an APP that we can log onto for all the current rules and regs for any fishing or hunting venue. Gotta love technology!
