I met Tim while fishing the Samish so after taking for a while I learned that he is new to fishing in the northwest. So I promised that I would take him fishing on my sled to chase coho on the snohomish. I tried to take him on Saturday but that fell through because of work. So I said I would on Sunday early in the morning and I knew that fishing is much better at first light. He is at my house at 4am like we planned, we talked for a bit about all my gear, and drift boat and why I have a fishing store in my garage. We head to the river and was the first ones to the launch get the boat into the water and set off.. I stop to wait for a little more visibility and figure what and where we will fish. I decide to fish plugs and which colors, we head to the spot and I explain how far and just set the pole in the holder and watch it. I explain all the things to look for so that the rod is doing all the right things. We set off in our first trolling pass, maybe 2 minutes aren't that he says fish on, I watched for other boats and let the boat drift while he fights the fish. With one in the boat we set our again wham he has another fish on, same story I watch and net his second fish. We ended up with 3 for the day, we just couldn't seem to get the last fish for out limit so maybe next time

Thanks for the report! As I am also pretty new to fishing our rivers. In the snohomish, is it best to. Troll while pulling plugs, or anchor and let the current take it, if strong enough. I had my boat out Saturday and sunday, didn't have any luck drifting eggs, retrieving plugs and Dick nite spoons. Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Try the pool about a half mile down below the 522 bridge. You will see all the boats.Sky
