Decided to give the river one more shot before the storm hits and blows out the river. Got down to the river right around sunrise, it was about midway to low tide. Not too much action early on, landed some sculpin and a small cutt. Saw a couple fish roll upriver so I moved upstream to the spot I fished yesterday. Fed some more sculpin before I finally hooked something with some size. It put up a pretty good fight on a light rod and 6lb line but I was able to land it. Decent 25" hen. Fished a little longer and hooked a slightly blushed hook nosed buck. Lost it at the bank after the leader snapped right at the hook. Tied on another leader and hooked up on my third or fourth drift through the hole. It came cartwheeling out of the water as I set the hook. Made a couple runs for the snags but I was able to muscle it away. Ended up being another decent hen. Gave it another twenty minutes before calling it a day. My rain jacket just wasn't as waterproof as I thought.
