Randy Ahearn and I met with Phil Stephens at Massey Bar, for a day of trying to get springers. We went up river and down river and each of us got one. The fish were great and Randy’s was the biggest at 14.5 pound cleaned. Mine was about half that size. We anchored and used divers and bait. Both, I think, came on some sort of shrimp
Saw a guy plunking on the bank get a bite. Heard his bell ring.
We also got weather experience, too: Rain, hail which dropped the temperature, and sun.

We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.

Toni,
Nice fish, great job. To truly enjoy catching Springers is at Barrier Dam, my suggestion check the USGS water level before going out there. I like the water level between 7000 fps to 9000 fps. Use long Spinning Rod ( at least 12' or longer), 8-17lbs Med / Heavy. Fish bobber style, from your bobber stopper to your hook should be about 10' long. Since you have a boat; launch below the dam and come up thee other side, it's much easier fishing. I have a 13'6' custom built rod with a Shimano Sustain 4000FG with 40lbs braided main line and 25lbs Mono as the leader line. Good luck

I went in someone else's boat. I don't bank fish but thanks for the advice.
