This really isn't a lake it's the Potholes Canal. I won't say where I fished, but it's somewhere between Coulee City and Othello. Wow, is all I can say about the fish. I happened to stumble across this spot after fishing Jameson Lake this weekend and being disgusted with that fishing, I decided to do some exploring and ran across a couple guys fishing some unlikely looking water. They held up the smallest fish they had ever caught and it was a nice 16 inch football bow. I camped there on the spot. I fished one area for several hours without a bite, so moved up to where the 2 guys had been fishing. My first cast drifting a nitecrawler brought a slamming strike and fish on. After a long 15 min. battle in the moving water I brought a nice 4 lb football rainbow in. My next cast a smaller fish of 2.5 lbs hit and was brought in. I was thinking I had found fishing nirvana. Not so. I fished till dark and the next day and not another trout. Picked up some perch and that was it. I headed to another secret lake in the potholes.
