Well I tell ya it was a windy day on the lake especially in a 10
ft flat bottom boat. My partner and I made the best of it though. Today we
were on the search for them Bucket mouth Bass. We found them in water
anywhere from 3ft. to 15 ft. My partner spent most of the morning fighting
the wind with the trolling motor keeping us where we could fish. While he
was fighting the wind I was fighting the fish. My partner broke the ice
with about a 14 incher on a chartreuse spinner and that would be his only
catch of the day. I caught five bass after that one fish 3 on a white
spinner and 2 on a plastic worm. Two 4lb fish on the spinner also one that
was probably about 3lbs. Then one solid 3lb fish and the catch of the day
a 6lb BUCKETMOUTH on the same plastic worm. The plastic worm was rigged
Texas style with my 1/8 oz slip sinker pegged to my line with a toothpick
(just the tip) about 18 inches above the worm. This allows the worm to
float up above the Vegetation
kind of like a Carolina or Split shot rig. I learned this technique
from the pros reading Bassmaster Magazine. I myself am looking foward to a
good career as a Professional bass fisherman with the FLW and Everstart Bass
