With Dave finally back from his European studies, we headed to our secret jewel. Walked the 3 miles in at 8:00 A.M. to avoid the rattlers and walked out at 7:30 do to the same. In between we had an awesome time and caught lots of 14-15" bows and a few 16-18" fish, about 40-45 in all between the 3 of us, all landed on barbless hooks and released unharmed. We hooked up with and lost a couple dozen others. Dave had a banner afternoon, accounting for at least half of our fish...good for him, making up for lost fishing time! As unbelievable as it sounds, we'd have doubled our production if it hadn't taken us half the day to discover the fish were feeding while suspended..hard to get to w/floating line. The fish fed all day, we just had to constantly adjust!
