Seen this "Pig" all day long cruisin the dock,..through the kitchen sink at this fatty,..nothing,..gave up and started to fish for the large RBT holdovers that are always found in this body of water,..the Locals aren't really Anglers so there's always an abundnace of RBT left over from the previous year,..some 4-5lb RBT have been caught in this small lake,..anyway,..while fishing for RBT I caught a small perch,..then it was clear to me,..this Fatty LM is feeding on the smaller perch,..and Low and Behold the "Only" lure I didn't try at this Pig was my Rapala Perch,..I rigged it on my braided line and tossed it under the dock,..retrieve,..pause,..retrieve,..pause,..retrieve,..then BAM,..fish on,..fought me for 10 minutes before I landed him,..everyone on the Lake was watching and all applauded when he was landed,..C&R to be caught another day! 26" 5.5lbs.

Yep Trent,..cause all the RBT are originally stockers,..none are wild,..but the perch are a different story,..these are native fish and the LM are feeding on them!

It was a little 3" Perch Rapala Jointed.

I have another spot just on the flip side of this "Secret Spot",..found out that this lake is fed from the middle and from underneath,..there is a live stream under the lake,..on the other side is another body of water very stained,..dark and structure all over the place,..I believe this is where the Lunkers hide,..the Secret Lake overflows to the flip side so it stands to reason,..no one ever,..I mean ever fishes that side,..maybe a few State Records lurking,..I'll hit it up next week and let you know pezking7,..PM me and we'll talk!
