9/4/2011 5:40:00 PMNice fish!!! I feel I do know where your secret lake is, as my brother and I have been fishing it for years. Your perch looks to be about 18 to 22 lbs., which is darn nice for any lake. We find that yours is a bit bigger than average, but the really big ones (24 to 28 lbs.) are typically caught at night on chicken legs. That is, if you can show up at about 1:00 a.m. on a full moon ready to hang your lantern over the dock, the big boys will cruise through like tarpon under the Vaca Cut bridge. Just jig your raw chicken leg at about ten feet and hold on to your rod. Thanks for the post, but please try to keep this one under wraps as those fish take years and years to grow to that size. Remember,...the limit is 25 per day on this gem. If the wrong people get hold of this, they may ruin it. We'll then be back to catching 9 and 10 inchers like on most lakes.

9/4/2011 6:31:00 PMI could not believe this picture when it was sent to me and called her asked she told me she held the perch in front of the camera and her mom was just standing there on the dock when she took the photo because she did not know how to hold it but it was not photo shopped just by chance. I thought it was funny and would share it my other reports are honest just a joke. I like the description on how to catch the giant perch almost fell out of my seat reading it thanks for a great laugh.

9/4/2011 9:16:00 PMThanks for one of the best reports I have seen in some time. Those big ones are hard to find now a days. I will pay you top dollar for the location of this secret lake. I already have my salmon pole spooled up with 65 pound braid for those monster perch. I cant wait to see the guy from River Monsters go catch one those perch. lol

9/5/2011 4:00:00 PMelijah you are right the photo was just an accident but it looked real funny to me and I thought that people who catch perch would get a kick out of it. I do not have the skills required to photp shop a photo like that.

9/5/2011 9:18:00 PMWell I for one am NOT going to disbelieve that it's a big Perch. My father, brother and I used to catch Perch pushing 5# in a bay near the mouth of the Seine river that dumps into Rainy Lake back in the 60's, then we were not into records we just killed em and ate em, no joke!
