Another amazing day. We fish tidal water this time. My buddy was on fire until he broke his pole(ouch). He already caught 8. I kept my last 2 so he did'nt have to stand around the rest of the day. The hen was about 9 lbs. and had sea lice on it still! The buck was a shade under 15lbs.
The usual float/jig. I can't think of any other tips to tell you, other than to maybe sell your soul so you have have gas to make the drive out to better rivers. Round trip today was about 270 miles. we fish about 4 hours.

The Grays River can be a real sleeper. Its one of those rivers that sits in the middle of a bunch of other popular rivers, and doesn't get that much pressure. Three years ago a friend and I caught and released 17 steelhead in one day out of only two drifts, and never saw another fisherman the whole time. Very memorable.

The high tide brought in a school of about 20 that sat right in front of us. Those were the picky ones. We couldn't get any of those to bite. My cousin used to live on the Grays and we would fish all the rivers around there. It is nice to be back out that way again.

That would be maddening Pro...makes you want to just jump in and get them. Those really are some beautiful fish. Loved heading there for the feb/march push that would bring those huge brites with my dad.
