Wait a minute. I need some clarification. You went to a pond that just filled up with rain water and caught 4 bass and a perch, but it was a slow morning and you never caught any out of there but it was fun. Come on, buddy, the report has to get better than that.

It says used a jig but says top fishing from shore? Sounds lake a waste of our time to read.

sorry for the minor detailed report. this pond fills up with a lot of rain water and gets lower when its hot out. there is bass, catfish, and perch. its fun for any one of any age, you can get a small boat like a raft or a canoe in there. this pond is located on 26th dr se in bothell so if anyone wants to go try their luck go ahead!!

I was wrong to be that way and want to appologize for the comment. I shouldn't have put the first thing that came to mind instead of looking at the whole situation. I hope to see many more reports in the future from you.

are these small ponds (most of them seem like water drainage ponds) even fishable? Are they regulated?

W4Y... Ah, are they fishable? I've got a storm water run off pond that is near me, that is even stocked with fish via a local community group.
Take your regulations via the WDFW regs. first and formost. Then beyond that you may fine signage at the pond, if it is being managed by a city group. Remember when you read the regs, what you are reading is bodies of water that have "Special regs"
That is to say if you do not find a body of water in the regs. that is because there is no "Special regulation" covering that water.
People will say all the time, ":But I can't find lake (X) in the regs! If you can't find something in the regs, then it does not have special rules. It will fall under year round open season. With the general rules of harvesting per species, located in what I think the regs. calls the "General rules" section, and will break down to species, type of water body, etc.
Even if a lake falls under the short season rules, Last week April- Oct, etc. that is a special rule, and will be listed in the regs as such.
Realize that they are not going to list rules for every single body of water in the state, to include all the Alpine lakes, etc.

I've fished in some pretty funny looking places.

Issaquah has lots of ponds I used to catch bass out of all the time. no rules ! If you give the info then no longer a secret! The secret to a secret is keeping the secret. Yep!

From Page 5 of the 2014 Regs: "There are over 7,500 lakes, reservoirs, and ponds (excluding beaver ponds), in
Washington State waters unlisted within this pamphlet, that are open to fishing for
Game Fish (except Dolly Varden /Bull Trout and GRASS CARP) year-round.
These year-round fishing opportunities are regulated under the Statewide Freshwater
Rules as listed on pages 16-17 with the following exceptions:
• seasonal waters listed under Lake Special Rules pages 58-68, and 85-95
• waters within tribal reservation lands
• waters within national park boundaries (not national forests)
• within boundaries of federal military installations"

welcome to the site jstoboy1234. i'm surprised that you shared the location of this pond. most people that post secret lake reports won't even hit at where it's at. i looked it up and it looks like it's a residential neighborhood. has any of the home owners ever come out to give you a hard time? or are they pretty open about people walking around the pond and fishing it? i'm very curious to check this pond out now but wonder if there is any public parking nearby.

I used to get a kick out of reading "Secret Lake" reports. A guy says "Hey, I caught some fish in an undisclosed lake they and were really nice" He doesn't say what they were biting on or what water depth they were in and so on.
In this case I would guess that jstoboy1234 was plenty interested in sharing his body of water but there was no lake to select from the list provided on this website for that boady of water. If the lake is not on the list, the only option left is to select secret lake, Right?
Secret lake reports can be helpfull, if a successfull fisherman posts, water temps, type of structure fished, water depths, trolling speeds (for those that troll), lure type and so on. The ones with info are good to read, the ones that say "I fished in a secret lake and I got some beauties are not so helpfull.

It is a secret lake if they keep the name of the lake secret from the guy that's fishing and reporting it...
Used to fish a pond that looked like a muddy wading pool for cows every spring near Eagle lakes. He called it "Dumb Ole Lake" till we found the real one. First time my friend took me there I would have sworn not even a carp would stoop to living there. Many bass later I admitted I could be mistaken. ' Course I was wrong about that. Never did see a carp.
