Went out for Steelhead on Saturday and thought I would post up a few pictures. Salmon Eggs and Jigs under floats were the ticket on Saturday. Landed a beautiful Native Steelhead and a couple Hatcheries. Also Tried for Springers on Sunday on the Cowlitz with no Luck. Seems like the springer run is late this year.

One observation I see on the river is other fishers coming through and working a hole and moving on if no bites, however I have learned it sometimes pays to spend a lot more time at a small number of choice holes and work them hard top to bottom. This has paid off for me over the last several months. This Saturday I spent four hours working three small holes, even returning to a previously fished hole after the fish settle down and wham-o!, another steelhead ripping the bobber under.
