Wife and I spent some time this last weekend on a get away. Saturday afternoon she said why don't you go fishing. I had found a year round lake that was close so I headed out to explore. The lake has a few cabins on it perhaps just summer stuff didn't hear much noise.

There was some road traffic, but no one was on the water or saw no other cars.

Found a place I could get to the lake from the beach and rigged my stuff up. Loaded up the hook with some of the finest Walmart "secret" Styrofoam cup bait and hurled it out to see what happens. For the first 30 -40 minutes it was really disappointing not even any fish jumping. I got a bit and it was a swing and a miss. So I reloaded and put it back in the same area. 20 minutes or so I had another bite and this one stuck. Ended up with a cut drug up on the lawn. Reloaded and chucked it back it the general area. It was sort of like a light switch the next 20 minutes I put 4 more on the lawn.

With the exception of the pending storm front and the cold winds it was a nice day.
