I went to this little spot that not a lot of people fish down off of Old Evergreen Highway. I catch good sized Perch there in late summer when the water is lower. I was just seeing if I could get any to bite and fishing by where a drain empties into the river and it has a rocky bottom so it seemed like a good enough spot. I casted out and literally as soon as my bait had reached the bottom I began getting a bite so I set the hook and ended up landing a beautiful 3 pound fish. I am not sure whether this was a steelhead or a rainbow but I think it is a rainbow, although I am not sure. If you can identify it please let me know. Anyways I had another on but lost it at the shore and then my line snapped on a snag so I called it a day.

Also the photo doesn't do the fish justice since I'm 6'6".

Yea thats strange. I fish there all the time and never seen a Rainbow caught in the Columbia before. Nice fish man, Was it a good solid bite or just nibbles?

It was the same kind of bite you get when fishing for them in lakes, I thought it was the current but I set the hook anyway. Good fight tho
