Started Saturday with my friend and I trolling the mouth of the San Poil on lake Roosevelt. Using a black shad Rappala my friend had a quick fish on but lost it before we got it in. Little did we know that that would be it for the rest of the day. We went up the San Poil, down to Whitestone, and back to the launch without another strike. Six hours, no fish. I fish Roosevelt pretty consistently and have done well in Decembers past. First time I have ever been skunked on lake Roosevelt! Dang it was cold. Used muddler minnow with a worm, tried the Rappalas, Wedding Ring and even drop shotted a few areas. We heard fish were on the surface so we fished shallow primarily. Marked no deep fish. Talked to a boat at the launch with the same story. Oh well, I will giver her another shot.
