Having missed a period of great weather a week or so ago, an itchin' to make up for it, my fishin' pard, Dennis Morford and I elected to head up to Rooselvelt for a couple of days fishing. Paying no heed to the weather reports we headed out on the morning of the 14 th. The forcast was for snow and sure enough there was snow and a cold - cold wind to go with it. We figured on staying at Spring Canyon and launching there.
By the time we got there the snow had halted, but a quick survey of the launch indicated that it was way, way down from where we had launched before.
With little hassle we put Dennis' Lund in and soon were getting set up.
Several years back I purchased a set of Mustang Survival coveralls. I 've used them before but they're generally too warm for me. This trip was different.I'm glad I had them, besides being secure about floatation I was as snug as could be. Before the day was over we had a limit of trout with 3 or 4 at 20 plus inches. When we came in there was a beauty of a lady there from the Colville tribe to record our catch. Her name was Brandi or Brandine I believe, she sure was a nice lady.
The 15 th was a little slower but just as cold and windy. We took 7 trout before having to head out.
Good luck and stay warm
F.H.
