My neighbor and I went fishing with KIT CARSON! Or at least one of his descendents. This guy is a whiz in everything he does, and he DOES KNOW HOW TO FISH! We went away from our usual Badger Lake digs to fish out of Gifford. We fished in a boat you could walk around in (a treat for us!). "Kit", as I will call him, just smiled when we placed our wedding ring lures into the water to catch fish. Lo and Behold; we caught a Walleye! First one my neighbor ever caught, too. 18". Then things got silent. Kit caught a Bass, then another...Time to change the lure! We went to Rapalas and things started jumpin'. Lesson learned (thanks to Kit, he was great in not rubbing it in too bad) include that timeless adage of: It may work great in one Lake, but not at Roosevelt! The WEEKEND was great; if you did not like the weather, you only had to wait 20 minutes for a change. And about those pesky TURKEYS...
