This was my third time ever to Rufus Woods but the best yet. I was fishing the upper net pens and the fish started biting at 7:30 and my grandpa and I were done by 9:00. We caught three 3 pounders and one 5 pounder. Using a three oz weight about two to three feet of leader with green and white turbo dough power bait. I had lost one good fish at the boat. Now I am a catch and release fisherman but using bait I had to keep them. I have read many reports where the trout pellet fly was used. I was wondering if someone could please let me in on the secret like how to make the fly and how to rig it. I really enjoy fly fishing and tried my fly rod this time cause I always see rising fish but no luck. That's why they call it fishing not catching. So I can say I had a great time with my Grandpa and the river was beautiful. Oh yeah the water temp. was 36 degrees and I was fishing in 45 feet of water.
