My daughter and I showed up at the lake around 12:30. There were only a small number of boats on the water and the new boat launch was wide open. We give this new boat launch a 5 star rating as it made for a very easy launch and load out compared to previous years. We motored out to our proven spot and dropped anchor. In no time we were landing trout starting with the first cast. We kept with our magic combination of pink sparkle power eggs set about 3 feet above the sinker. It didn't seem to matter whether we used a slip sinker or just stright split shot - the fish just sucked the power eggs down. The few neighboring boats using green powerbait seemed clueless and fishless as we reeled in trout after trout. After a few hours on the lake we had landed 8 trout and lost another 2. They ranged from 12-14" - all fat rainbows. It made for a great day!
