Took my 14 yr old son down to Bateman Island for his first experience night fishing. water was still pretty high muddy, but no vissible debris floating in the water, which has been the case for the last few weeks. Was about 8 people there all fishing with lighted bobbers, using shrimp & worms, no fish caught by any of them. We were there about 2 hours and caught 1 fish. Used lighted bobber set @ 5' with cut pike minnow as bait. We had a few bumps between 12:30 & 1:15 am, about 1:45 am my son's bobber was slammed & almost had his pole pulled into the water. After about 15 minutes he landed a 10 lb catfish, it measured 30 3/8 ", which he nammed Stan. About 2:15 am the wind picked up & water got choppy so we left, released the fish in the family fishing pond, thought that would be funny to see some 5 yr old catch that thing on a snoopy zebco.
