Well, this is the first time I have made a report, but I am a big fan of reading them so I figured it was about time. My son and I decided to try our luck on Lake Roosevelt, and launched at Keller Ferry around 12:30 PM on Sunday the 14th. We went up river and scouted a couple of potential camp sites along the way. We went about 11 miles up river, to a cove above a nice little ranch on the North side of river. We got a tip that the trolling wasn't so good, and decided to just still fish from the boat. Well, our first cast was around 1:30, and our first fish was around 1:35. We managed to catch our limits in about 1.5 hours. Water temp was around 38 degrees, and we were fishing in around 35-45 feet of water. The biggest fish was 20 inches, and 2.5 lbs, smallest was around 15 inches, in the 1 pound range. The next day was more of the same, except it took us 3-4 hours to catch our limit... Day one's bite was very aggressive, with the fish really going after it. One fish actually took my son's bait, and then I had one on also... Yup, the same fish with both hooks in its mouth...Day two was less so, with many missed bites, and nibbles... Great times were had.
We also camped at Penix camp site, which was quiet, albeit very wet...
