Wow! The Troutfisherman strikes again! Lennie and I left Seven Bays about 8:15 and motored to a place called the "tires", just south of Keller. We put out two rods with streamer flies in a dark color, tipped with artificial worm, and trolled fast, about 3.3 miles per hour. Caught the first fish after about 20 minutes. We made another pass in that area, then changed gear to Apex and Pro Lites and moved further south to hunt Kokes. Fished another hour or so and picked up one rainbow. Three other boats were in this area but we did not see a net go out. We decided to go back to the streamers and move up to the mouth of the San Poil. While I was relieving myself of some morning coffee, we had our first strike. I managed to recover fast enough to reel that one in. Ten minutes later, Lennie had just scooped another into the net, when the rod on the other side began to shake violently. Technically a double! That was our last bite and we headed back about 1:30.
Nice way to start the new year fishing, even though we were too ealry for Kokes!

Thanks for the report! What was the water temp out there? You hear of any walleye action?

While I was relieving myself of some morning coffee? Does that mean you have the two "Rod" license? Happy fishing
