My friend Noah and I met up with Hewesfisher and his wife at the Seven Bays launch and headed directly to the mouth of the Sanpoil. We trolled various perch colored flys and plugs for a few hours with no luck. On our way back to the Hawks Creek area we ran into Mav186 who decided to follow us there. Trolling and stationary fishing still did not produce any fish. Sometime around 3pm we left the Hawks Creek area and pulled over at the first sandy bay north of the creek opening to do some stationary fishing. Beaching the boats and soaking a worm & marshmallow for an hour produced 1 15" rainbow. It was a really nice day to be out boating, but not so much in the fishing department. Water temps in the morning were around 39 degrees.

Yep, nice day indeed, and you were the only one to catch a fish between our two boats! Proof positive persistence pays off. We definitely need to do this again. Nice meeting up with you and Noah, and I'm glad you boated a nice chunky Roosevelt rainbow! :-)

Good to meet you guys too Aaron...I love that area up there...fish on ice, the smell of pine country and a campfire just does it for me!
