Please forgive me if I got the target species wrong, I am not a salmon expert. I went to the Vernita bridge to do some salmon fishing yesterday with my friend Trevore. His dad is a guide that runs trips down there and man does he know what he's doing. He had some cancellations so he had an open date for us to come down. We started fishing at 7am, both had our two fish limits caught, back to the shore and filetted by 9:30am. I'm not so sure that's a good thing. It shows great success but it shortens a great day on the water with friends. The fish we got were not giants but great looking fish and certainly diffrent from the pike we are used to catching. If you ever want to fish that part of the river and are looking for a top notch guide, look up Brett and find a way to get in his boat. You will not be dissapointed. Unless you want to spend a little more time on the water. He provides a "First Rate" boat, excellent tackle, and certainly has the knowledge to get the job done. I can't say enough about the experience. I plan to try one of his other trips like springers and whatever kind of salmon that is that he catches in the Brewster area, next year. Happy Fishing
