Long time reader, first time to post a report. All I can say is I'm sure glad I live in the great N.W. because the fishing and hunting here is awesome. Anyway a good friend and I went fishing, we launched at lincoln at 7:00 am and preceeded to head to one of our favorite spots to fish for walleye, one of my personaly favorite fish to eat.
We used 1/4 oz. jigs with chartreuse skirts with a stinger hook. I have tried blade baits with no success, probably operator error. Well we use the kicker to control the boat as we do a slow back drift while we jig, trying to stay vertical it works well as long as you don't have to deal with to much wind, which we thankfully didn't. The morning started out good catching walleye right of the bat and cotinued throughout the day. The bonus was we were catching beautiful fat rainbows of the bottum too. We use orange or pink on the jig (head or skirt) I think that might attract the trout.
So we ended up limiting out on both species by noon. Thats a first for me considering I wasn't there for the trout, but man they are fat and healthy, good fighters to. Sorry no pic. My friend took some shots I will see if can get them from him and post them.
Be safe and good luck to all.
