Made the drive to the Columbia just had to take a shot at sturgeon fishing. Launched at Wind Rver and fished the mouth for three hours and would move every half hour or so. No sturgeon just a 6lb sucker on sand shrimp. Boated up to Drano Lake fished there for an hour nothing. Studied the map a little decided to fish the deeper water about half way in between the two in 50ft of water. Upon arriving at the chosen spot . Just a few minutes before we had our first fish on a 46" keeper. Action was fairly constant between bites, bating and retying. Smelt was the bait of the day. We ended up boating 6 sturgeon the largest at 37lbs and the smallest at 30in. water temp 40 degrees. No wind and the sun was out most of the day. Great day to be fishing

Awesome. Man I was all excited to hook up my little boat and head out for a weekend of surgeon hunting. But I think Drano Lake is like just outside of 5 hours from Spokane!! A little to far for me to travel to try and pull the needle out of the haystack...looks like I'll have to go fro the walleyes
