Went back to Eden Harbor for some more Rainbow. The area we fished last weekend was iced over! So we headed around to fish the other side in the cold shade. Started out with bites right away with 1 fish to the net. The breeze would come and go otherwise the weather was crisp and beatiful. We built a warming fire & settled in. An hour passed without another nibble. I had my youngest with me and he wanted to make a move to Spring Canyon. So, off we went. Upon arrival we talked with those already there & they said it was dead. Rather than fish the rocky bottom in the sunshine we opted for sandy bottom (in the shade again). It was a good move. Again, bites right away! We missed enough bites for several limits. I checked hook sharpness, I tried less amount of bait on the hook and still the bites were timid. We picked up 2 apiece after 3 1/2 Hrs. here. We fished for the last hour at Crecsent Bay without a bite. We did see and talk to a group of three guys there that picked up 2. They had come up fishless from the net pens on Rufus. It was a good day out. Sorry no pics. All of the fish were 14-15". Fiesty scrappers and deep orange fillets for the smoker!
Sharp hooks to all!
