Started out at 7:00. I was fly fishing while my son (12) tried the old bobber and worm bit. I could see some rainbow slurping the top of the water, so I tried a midge. First time with this fly so I had some trouble using it. When to cast out again and found I had hooked into a 8-10" trout!

Fish are awfully pretty, even when they are hurtling at you at mach 1 because you didn't know they were hooked. To make a long story short, he dropped back into the water and shook the fly before I could land him.

Nothing after than for awhile so I switched to worms too. My son took over the fly rod and hooked another trout which played him for awhile before throwing the fly. Right at that time, a silvery ghost - a giant silvery ghost mind you, floated by. It had to be 24"+. Not sure what it was, but it made a run at his fly before turning (he was dry fly fishing) and completely ignored my worm.

By this time it was 9:20 and security was closing things up. We didn't get anything, but it was fun for us just to get out together.
