Hit the columbia to try and learn how to plunk. Had several takes, but missed alot because I had to strong of line on my dropper at first. After I switched to 4lb test dropper I was able to break the weight off and set the hook as needed. I landed one small king and and missed several. People were catching them here and there but it wasn't on fire. Shad fishing was slow as well even though the numbers were high. I hooked into a sturgeon and thought it would spool me for sure but lucky for me it threw the hook=) All in all a good day with nice weather, prepared food from my girlfriend and my first salmon since oct.

Have never had to use a break off weight to set the hook on any of the ones Ive caught plunking. Use whatever method works best for you though...atleast you have had success fairly early.

Although it looks like you are fishing in rocks compared to sand which might answer my own question...gj.

Ya, its nothing but big stones so you don't get your weight back that often=) I'd like to try out a sandbar or something and just bbq all day. Any location suggestions would be welcome ha.
