We were at the Upper Columbia River Campground just a few miles north of 2 Rivers. 9am used a #4 Kahle hook with a 3/16" diameter red bead and bullet slip weight tipped with a nightcrawler (real and plastic) caught about 23 smallmouth bass ranging in size from 6"-16" (released alot of the smaller ones) 1- 5" rainbow released and a couple of walleye sized out to 18 1/2" consistantly till that setup just wasnt working anymore.
We switched to a orange and red Double Whammy got a ton of bites missed more than what we landed. The river was extremly busy for the 4th of July weekend so we stuck to fishing in the out of the way coves and sloughs but off the water by 2-3 pm. When your 12' aluminum boat is going up againts the 100's of 30 foot boats we just dont a chance. But is was a very productive fishing day.
