Headed for the lower net pens for the first time with a buddy. We launched close to light and spent most of the morning with jigs or hooks with bait around the pens with no luck. We then switched to trolling about everything we could think of spoons, spinners, flies, and finished up with rapalas. We trolled around the pens for awhile and finally switched to trolling the edges. Finally after lunch we ended up hooking up with a couple 15"ish native rainbow on a split back perch rapala. As it got later in the day we decided to start trolling back towards Seaton Grove boat launch and I ended up catching a little under 8lb Native Rainbow. We caught it on a countdown black and silver rapala. With one pole out we caught another 15"ish native rainbow on the same countdown rapala. I thought we were skunked for sure before lunch but we kept after it and we were both very happy with the outcome. Thanks ChinookSlammer for making the trek down to go out with me!
