Another slow day on the Spokane Arm. We launched my buddy Glenn's new Crestliner (at least new to him) out of Ft Spokane and headed up-river to the islands on the left and right. Caught a few small dinks on jigs. Best depth was 35'-45'. They wanted small dark colored grubs. The action was slow so we headed up to buoy five with the same results, small fish. The water is dropping rapidly so if you aren't familiar with where the river channel is you should go slow. I know where the channel is and I still go slow. I have seen too many people go whizzing up-river only to see them come back later going slow because they were forced to use their kicker on the way down. Those lower units are expensive to fix or replace. Anyway we worked our way back down river picking up a dink here or there. Last place we tried was the last island before Ft Spokane. Same results only late in the day they would only hit a 6" robo worm in earthworm color. Not a bad day but definitely not what were used to this time of year. Also heard about the bounty the tribes are putting on Walleyes in Roosevelt, I wish them no luck at all.
Water temp: 40-43
Jig color: red and black
grub color: june bug/motor oil
