6/5/2012 7:39:00 PMMan. That thing looks almost like a Smallie/largemouth Hybrid known as A "Mean mouth bass" with the stripes on the gill plates-but the black side blotches like a largemouth along it's lateral line. Hmmmm?...Spotted bass? maybe.

6/6/2012 10:35:00 AMAt first I thought smally/largie hybrid. Then went and looked at pictures online. Spotted does look very similar to your caught fish. Would have the Smallmouth stripes on the outside of the gill plate. LargeMouth black bar running the length of the fish and continues into the gill plate. Including a bunch of spots in the belly area, below the black bar.
