Had fun in Brewster again! Took my 18 Yr. old son along this time. I ran the boat while he boated the first 4. Then while he was punching his 4th fish I instinctively grabbed the next bouncing rod! He netted it for me and went to steering while I put out a 3rd rod out. I still don't know if that was a smart thing to do. It added to the frenzy. On the 3rd rod I ran the same amount of weight but a smaller dodger so it would stay away from the other 2. We picked up fish on all 3 rods regaurdless of dodger size. Although, I was running 50/50 dodgers on all 3. I ran 15 ft. deep and 20 ft. back on the downrigger. I was using 14-15'' leaders with both pink or orange hoochies tipped with shrimp. Size 0 dodgers on 2 rods & a 000 on the third rod. We never doubled up but, had constant action from 5:30 untill 7:30. Total weight of 12 fish was 33LBS 13oz. Very consistant size throughout & consistant with Fridays catch.(small) I don't know how long this fishery will last but it's RED HOT for now! Good meat still. 22LBS. of Fillets! There were acouple of kayakers as well as canoes catching fish in amongst the floatilla! Get after'em while the gettin' is good!
