Orange seemed to be the hot color today we had our limits by 2:00. Caught 1 native about 16 in. one carryover about 20 in. the rest we all this years release all about 14-16 in. Caught fish on both kinds of lines, they sure give a good fight, love fishing Roosevelt. Great day on the water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice report, we fished Roosevelt last Sunday and it was real slow until we found the fish in a bay 1/2 way between Fort Spokane and 7bays. We hit our limit in 1.5 hours after finding them. Using wedding rings, orange and red worked great, it was nonstop and we even had doubles at times. Had a lot of take downs only to lose the fish so I am putting Kamakatsu hooks on my rings and giving it another try, hopefully the take downs will be netted fish in the morning. Thanks for the report and tight lines.

Nice report two brothers! We fished Sterling Point yesterday too with similar gear and setting. We were about a half mile downstream from the point. We did ok, not as good as last Tuesday though. After a move to Split Rock we finished our limits by 2:30 and headed for the launch.
Tom - We had the same problem with takedowns yesterday on flies and plugs, and I thought it was due to dull hooks too. I don't think it was, as even brand new, out of the package hooks had the same result. They were just being picky yesterday.

Between my brother Ron and I we probably had 12-14 fish on that we did not get to the boat. The fish hit the lures hard but we lost quite a few all day, made for a action packed day,LOTS OF FUN.

I'd imagine we had at least that many, wouldn't be surprised if more. Any day at Roosevelt is a good day. :-)

We had the same problem with fish. New hooks, sharpened ones, trebles, these fish just laughed them off. Oddest thing I've ran into in a while. They would fight for 100-150' and then just dissappear. Good day nonetheless.
