Cat Lake is a great small lake/large pond for small boat fishing. Great for bass--lots of structure, reeds, and pads. Unfortunately, there's only about a 10-foot section that is accessible from the shore, so it's not much fun without a boat. I found it last year (with the help of www.topozone.com and a GPS), but no luck fishing from the shore at the time. I tried it again this year with a boat, and landed a 2.5 lb largemouth--not a monster, but a fun catch. I'm just glad there's fish in there. I also saw a floating dead catfish about 5 inches long. Not sure if that's a good thing, but it's a good indication there might be some big ones in there. The lake is very dark, so I found that bright colors work best for bass. I was using a Rapala Husky Jerk, when I caught this one today.
